DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Fresh From Florida will sponsor the 2007 Grand-Am KONI Challenge Series at Daytona International Speedway, DIS officials announced today.
The Fresh From Florida 200 at Daytona will run at the World Center of Racing on January 26 prior to the prestigious twice-around-the-clock 45th Rolex 24 At Daytona on Jan. 27-28.
"We're always utilizing new and innovative ways to increase the number of 'Fresh from Florida' consumer impressions," Florida Agriculture Commissioner Charles H. Bronson said. "We're excited to sponsor this race and promote the 'Fresh from Florida' brand around the world. Logo exposure helps shoppers recognize our agricultural products in retail stores, and that helps increase sales for our state's farmers."
"We're proud to have Fresh From Florida on board for one of the most exciting weekends here at DIS," said Speedway President Robin Braig. "Combined with the Rolex 24 At Daytona, fans will experience some of the most competitive road-racing on the Grand-Am circuit."
The Grand-Am KONI Challenge Series is sanctioned by the Grand American Road Racing Association, the premier road racing organization in North America.
Actor Patrick Dempsey, who stars as Dr. Derek Shepherd on the ABC hit television series Grey's Anatomy, recently visited Daytona International Speedway to test his No. 54 Ford Hyper Sport Mustang which he will co-drive in The Fresh From Florida 200.
