WKA Moves Inside DIS For Daytona KartWeek By Cometic Gasket
4/12/2007
Daytona KartWeek by Cometic Gasket is a day away and go-kart teams from the
World Karting Association have moved inside the historic grounds of Daytona
International Speedway.
Hundreds of go-karts in the Horstman Gold Cup Series of the WKA will be
competing on a 12-turn, half-mile sprint track located in the infield between
Turns 3 and 4 of "The World Center of Racing" beginning Friday, April 13 through
Sunday, April 15. Friday is reserved as a practice day while races are scheduled
for Saturday and Sunday.
The spring visit from the WKA continues the tradition of go-kart racing at
Daytona International Speedway, which has hosted go-karts since the 1970s.
Many of today's racing stars made their first foray into racing in go-karts.
Among the former stars that have competed in the go-karts events at Daytona
International Speedway include NASCAR stars Tony Stewart, Brian Vickers, Bobby
Labonte and Jamie McMurray and most recently IndyCar Series driver Marco
Andretti in 2002.
Tickets for Daytona KartWeek By Cometic Gasket are available for $10 at the
gate. For more information call 1-800-PITSHOP.
