DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The stakes will be high for the 8 Hours At Daytona SunTrust MOTO-ST Series season finale on Saturday, Oct. 20 at historic Daytona International Speedway. A purse of $100,000 will be on the line for SunTrust MOTO-ST Series teams as they battle in the sixth and final round of the inaugural SunTrust MOTO-ST Series season. The 8 Hours At Daytona will boast a international field of top riders from the United States, Europe and Canada in three classes - The Buell Motorcycle Company SuperSport class (SST) which includes motorcycles producing between 90-118 horsepower, the BMW Grand Sport Twins class (GST) covering motorcycles producing 75-90 horsepower and Sport Twins (ST) for machines under 75 horsepower. Included in the $100,000 purse is $7,500 to the overall winner of the 8 Hours At Daytona and $7,500 to the Super Sport Twins class winner, $5,000 to the Grand Sport Twins winner and $3,500 to the Sport Twins Bonus. The 8 Hours At Daytona, which will feature a variety of different motorcycles including BMW, Ducati, Buell, Harley-Davidson, Honda, Suzuki and Kawasaki, will test the endurance of both the rider and machine. In addition, pit stops and rider changes will be crucial in this demanding 8-hour race on Daytona's 3.56-mile road course.
