DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – On Sunday, Feb. 14, NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver and two-time Daytona 500 champion Michael Waltrip will begin his 25th year in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series at the sport’s biggest race – the Daytona 500.
And to mark that special occasion, Daytona International Speedway and Waltrip, who captured the Daytona 500 in 2001 and 2003, are joining forces with a special Michael Waltrip Daytona 500 Celebration Offer.
The package, available for $129, includes:
• A ticket to the 52nd annual Daytona 500
• Question and answer session with Waltrip on the morning of the Daytona 500
• Celebration party with Waltrip, featuring cakes, beverages and other giveaway items
• Autographed commemorative event ticket
Waltrip said he hopes it’s a special day for all of the fans as well as his NAPA AUTO PARTS Toyota.
“The Daytona 500 is the greatest race in the world, my favorite race, and the race that defines my career,” Waltrip said. “I’m humbled that the speedway is honoring my 25th season with a commemorative ticket package. I very much look forward to meeting the fans race morning and then going after my third 500 win that afternoon.”
Track officials said the offer will give fans a chance at a rare opportunity to talk with a two-time race winner the morning of the race.
“Michael Waltrip is part of an exclusive club of Daytona 500 champions,” Daytona International Speedway President Robin Braig said. “Beginning his 25th year with NASCAR’s biggest race is certainly going to be a special moment and this ticket package is going to deliver a unique and memorable experience to race fans.”
