DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – As part of the an ongoing effort to ensure fans have an enjoyable, affordable race experience, Daytona International Speedway President Joie Chitwood III today announced a new promotion to help lower the costs for fans who plan to attend Speedweeks and the 2011 DAYTONA 500.
During the entire month of November, fans are eligible to save 30 percent off the standard rate for hotels located in Daytona Beach. The offer extends into the month of December, when fans will be eligible to receive a 20 percent discount. To take advantage of this offer, fans can visit www.daytonainternationalspeedway.com/hotels to find a list of participating hotels and contact information. The 25 participating hotels are all located in the Daytona Beach area and represent over 2,600 rooms. They also provide a range of amenities that can fit any budget.
“Once again our fans have spoken and we’ve listened. Tough economic times continue to affect our loyal race fans so we’re doing our part to help lower some of the costs associated with attending Speedweeks and ‘The Great American Race,’” said Chitwood. “This effort began a couple of years ago when we lowered ticket prices for the DAYTONA 500 to $55. We also worked with local hotels to reduce minimum night stays and we continue to provide free parking and allow fans to bring food and beverages to races. We put our fans are first so they can come and enjoy the thrill of live, side-by-side action at the ‘World Center of Racing.’”
This offer is made possible through a partnership between Daytona International Speedway and Daytona Hotel and Lodging Association of Volusia County. Its 25 participating hotels have all pledged to honor this offer as a way to help race fans attend events during Speedweeks 2011.
“We’re happy to partner with Daytona International Speedway to showcase Daytona Beach to the loyal fans who visit us each year,” said Bob Davis, president of the Daytona Hotel and Lodging Association of Volusia County. "The hotels participating in this program are the best in Daytona Beach and they are offering the best deals to those who plan to attend Speedweeks and the DAYTONA 500.”
