Daytona International Speedway, home to NASCAR’s biggest, richest and most prestigious race -- the Daytona 500, will celebrate NASCAR Day on Friday, May 20 with a NASCAR Day Best Dressed Competition as well as lunch specials, music and raffles.
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Daytona International Speedway, home to NASCAR’s biggest, richest and most prestigious race -- the Daytona 500, will celebrate NASCAR Day on Friday, May 20 with a NASCAR Day Best Dressed Competition as well as lunch specials, music and raffles.
NASCAR Day, a program of the new NASCAR Unites campaign, is an annual charitable celebration that unifies the NASCAR community to better the lives of children. Plans for NASCAR Day activities will include local activities at numerous NASCAR race tracks around the country. NASCAR fans across the country are encouraged to donate $5 to receive a NASCAR Unites wristband, the icon of NASCAR Unites.
Daytona International Speedway will celebrate NASCAR Day between 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. outside the Daytona International Speedway ticket office with lunch specials, raffles, contests and music. The Florida Blood Centers will also be on site from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
The NASCAR Day Best Dressed Competition will take place at 12:15 p.m. with a $100 gift card up for grabs for the best dressed NASCAR fan.
Raffle tickets will be available for purchase for $1 with prizes available such as:
• Richard Petty Driving Experience ride-along package
• Coke Zero 400 Weekend Powered By Coca-Cola ticket package
• Accommodations at area hotels
• Brad Paisley signed poster
• NASCAR Preseason Thunder 2011 poster signed by drivers
• Signed hat from GRAND-AM driver Patrick Dempsey.
NASCAR Unites wristbands will be available for purchase and all proceeds from NASCAR Unites wristbands and the NASCAR Day celebration stay in the local community and benefit Speediatrics, the pediatric care unit at Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach.
