DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Daytona International Speedway will host the only AMA Supercross event in the state of Florida in 2013 when it stages the Daytona Supercross By Honda on its legendary tri-oval Saturday night, March 9. Tickets for the event are now on sale.
The Daytona Supercross By Honda’s grueling and challenging course will once again be a Ricky Carmichael Signature Design. Carmichael, who owns a record five Daytona Supercross By Honda victories, will design the course for the sixth straight year.
“It’s a privilege to be able to return and design the race course again,” Carmichael said. “Daytona has so much history and I am honored to be a part of it. I enjoy sitting down with a blank piece of paper and designing a course that will produce great racing for the riders as well as the fans.”
James Stewart will be looking to defend his 2012 Daytona Supercross By Honda title against a tough field of challengers that are expected to include two-time defending AMA Supercross champion Ryan Villopoto, Ryan Dungey, Chad Reed, Trey Canard and Andrew Short.
Daytona International Speedway has been home to the original Supercross since 1971 – the longest continuous Supercross event in America. Among the Supercross greats that have captured the Daytona Supercross By Honda include Bob Hannah, Jeff Stanton, Jeremy McGrath and Carmichael.

About Daytona International Speedway
Daytona International Speedway is the home of "The Great American Race" - the Daytona 500. Though the season-opening NASCAR Sprint Cup event garners most of the attention - as well as the largest audience in motorsports - the enormous 480-acre motorsports complex boasts the most diverse schedule of racing on the globe, thus earning it the title of "World Center of Racing." In addition to eight major weekends of racing activity, rarely a week goes by that the Speedway grounds are not used for events that include civic and social gatherings, car shows, photo "shoots," production vehicle testing and police motorcycle training.
