The modern American muscle motorcycle brand Victory Motorcycles  will serve as the presenting sponsor for the 75th running of the DAYTONA 200, America’s most historic motorcycle race, on Saturday, March 12 at Daytona International Speedway (DIS).

The 57-lap, 200-mile event, which will showcase 600cc sportbikes on the Speedway’s 3.51-mile road course, will be known as the DAYTONA 200 By Victory. In addition to being the presenting sponsor, the new Victory Octane will also serve as the official pace bike for the event. The motorcycle will pace the field on the sighting lap prior to the start of the DAYTONA 200 By Victory.

“We are celebrating a significant milestone in 2016 with the 75th running of the DAYTONA 200 and we’re proud to have Victory Motorcycles as a presenting sponsor,” Daytona International Speedway President Joie Chitwood III said.

”Victory Motorcycles has been delivering performance and power in the cruiser and touring classes for years,” says Steve Menneto, Vice President of Victory motorcycles, a Polaris Industries brand. “The new Victory Octane is designed to be the most aggressive muscle bike in the class and comes in at an affordable $10,500. We are happy to sponsor a legendary event like the DAYTONA 200. It’s a great example of how our brand is breaking boundaries by participating in the Isle of Man Electric TT, the Pikes Peak Hill Climb and the NHRA circuit,”

As part of their presenting sponsorship of the DAYTONA 200, the motorcycle manufacturer will be hosting the Victory Owners Track Experience, which will provide a parade lap around DIS to Victory motorcycle owners on Friday, March 11 at 11:30 a.m. Leading the parade lap will be Swiss motorcycle fanatic Grisu Grizzly, who in the past two years has set a pair of distance riding world records aboard Victory Motorcycles.

The Victory Owners Track Experience will begin Grizzly’s latest Guinness Book of World Records pursuit, which is riding his Victory Cross Country motorcycle across and visiting every continent in the world. The current record stands at 120 days and Grizzly’s goal is 100 days.

Victory Motorcycle owners can sign up to participate in the parade lap around the “World Center of Racing” at

Similar to its four-wheeled brethren, the DAYTONA 200’s roots go back to the sands of Daytona Beach where the inaugural event was first held in 1937 and won by Ed Kretz on an Indian Scout before moving to Daytona International Speedway in 1961.

In 2016, for the second straight year, the American SportBike Racing Association (ASRA) will serve as the sanctioning partner of the DAYTONA 200 By Victory, which will feature a competitive purse and will award a Rolex Cosmograph Daytona to the champion.

About Daytona International Speedway

Daytona International Speedway is the home of "The Great American Race" - the DAYTONA 500. Though the season-opening NASCAR Sprint Cup event garners most of the attention - as well as the largest audience in motorsports - the approximately 500-acre motorsports complex boasts the most diverse schedule of racing on the globe, thus earning it the title of "World Center of Racing." In addition to eight major weekends of racing activity, rarely a week goes by that the Speedway grounds are not used for events that include civic and social gatherings, car shows, photo shoots, production vehicle testing and police motorcycle training.
