Scout Days once again returns to Daytona International Speedway as the infield will transform into a truly unique camping retreat.
Boy and Girl Scouts will travel from all over to camp and participate in exciting activities like fishing on Lake Lloyd, scavenger hunts and geocaching. In addition, they’ll receive up-close access to the teams and drivers from the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and the IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge as they prepare their cars on the “World Center of Racing’s” 3.56-mile road course for the 2017 season.
Saturday Morning Tri-oval Walk
Early on Saturday morning, pit road will be opened from the UNOH Fanzone as Scouts will be granted access to the frontstretch tri-oval. This unique opportunity will allow scouts to walk pit road and a portion of the track, as well as sign the start/finish line. Sharpies will be provided.

Fishing on Lake Lloyd
Take advantage of the 29-acre Lake Lloyd in DAYTONA’s infield by baiting some hooks and casting lines into the famous body of water. Each year, the catch and release program sees several big catches throughout the weekend.

IMSA Tech Inspection 101
IMSA Technical Director Scott Raymond will walk attendees through the highly detailed process every car must go through to meet the exact specifications IMSA requires to be race ready. This will take place at the WeatherTech garage inspection station inside the UNOH Fanzone.

Scout Days Tram Track/Stadium Tour
Climb aboard one of our open-air trams and you will be transported into the “World Center of Racing.” From a tour of the infield to an inside look at the world’s only motorsports stadium, your expert tourologist will provide you with everything you’ve wanted to know about Daytona International Speedway.

Pit Stop Demo
Gather in Gatorade Victory Lane in the UNOH Fanzone as a team from the Continental SportsCar Challenge gives an up-close demonstration of one of racing’s most exciting and important moments – the pit stop.
Timing: 10:30 am – 11 am, Saturday, January 7
Scout Days Open Garage
Throughout Saturday, Scouts will receive over three hours of access to the IMSA WeatherTech Championship Series garage, observing the hard-working race teams and their high-performance vehicles in action.

Women in Sports Car Racing Q&A Session
For the very first time, DAYTONA will bring together women from the IMSA WeatherTech Championship Series for a special Q&A. The group includes successful mechanics, engineers and drivers.

IMSA Tech Talk
Inside Gatorade Victory Lane, IMSA Technical Director Scott Raymond will give first-hand demonstrations of how race teams mechanically manage the operation of their high-performance vehicles.

Scout Days Movie Night
New for 2017, Scouts are invited to a Saturday night movie. This exclusive showing of the 2006 Disney movie Cars starts at 8:30pm on the Main Stage in the UNOH Fanzone. You’ll need to bring blankets and chairs for seating but select snacks and beverages will be available for purchase.
