The United States Auto Club (USAC) announced its USAC.25 Series (quarter midgets) season-opening event will be held at Daytona International Speedway (DIS), Feb. 7-10, 2019.
This will be the second visit for the USAC.25 series at the historic and world-renowned motorsports facility. A 1/20th of a mile long tri-oval racetrack will once again be temporarily constructed on a paved section inside DIS.
“For the second straight year, the USAC.25 national season will begin at the ‘World Center of Racing.’ The inaugural event was a huge hit for both competitors, their families and fans,” Daytona International Speedway President Chip Wile said. “We’re excited to welcome them back and showcase quarter midget racers on motorsports’ biggest stage right alongside the stars of NASCAR.”
There are over 40 USAC.25 clubs located nationwide. Thousands of kids ages 5 and up and their families participate in the USAC-sanctioned quarter midget series. Some notable quarter midget graduates include NASCAR stars Jeff Gordon, Joey Logano, Ryan Newman, Alex Bowman along with IndyCar drivers Sarah Fisher, Ed Carpenter and A.J.Foyt.
“One of our primary goals for the USAC.25 series is that we offer the kids an experience unfound anywhere else in motorsports,” said Kevin Miller, President of USAC. “We want to assure that the investment in time and money the families are making will provide memories that last a lifetime. Our families and competitors talked about their time at Daytona all throughout our 2018 season and hoped for the opportunity to go back in 2019. We are thrilled to be able kick off our USAC.25 national season at Daytona International Speedway again and allow even more of our drivers, their families and friends the experience to visit and race where all the greatest drivers in motorsports have competed.”
Since 1956, United States Auto Club (USAC) has proven itself as being the most diversified motorsports sanctioning body in the world. It is the official sanctioning body of many of today’s largest racing series including its own suite of circle track series in Sprint, Silver Crown, Midget, Micro and .25 Midget racing (quarter midgets), Pirelli World Challenge, American Rally Association, International Snowmobile Racing, Robby Gordon Stadium Trucks, Radical Racing, Ultra 4 Racing, Formula Race Promotions and Karting. USAC has over 15,000 competitors racing at more than 500 sanctioned events globally.
