Utah Runnin' Utes Run Fast At DIS

The University of Utah Runnin’ Utes college basketball team took a team building trip to historic Daytona International Speedway Thursday morning to experience the excitement of NASCAR. The Utes, in town for the Glenn Wilkes Classic college basketball tournament at the Ocean Center, visited Daytona 500 Experience – “The Official Attraction of NASCAR” and Daytona International Speedway and participated in the Chevy 16-Second Pit Stop simulation, pace car rides and a tour of the historic racing facility.

January NASCAR Testing At DIS Cancelled

In an effort to help teams manage costs, NASCAR is suspending testing for its three national and two regional racing series for the 2009 season. Daytona International Speedway will not host January testing sessions for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, Nationwide Series or Camping World Truck Series. The track will host the NASCAR Preseason Thunder Fan Fests on Jan. 16-17.

Spirit of Daytona Racing continued their two-wheel experiment as they prepare for the 47th anniversary of the Rolex 24 At Daytona on Jan. 24-25 at historic Daytona International Speedway.
