Phase one of Frontstretch Renovation
Phase one of our frontstretch renovation project will be completed in time for Speedweeks 2010 and the 52nd annual Daytona 500 and will focus on the old dog track property located behind the Keech and Lockhart Grandstands and will include new fan amenities such as two additional gate entrances, relocation of the Turn 1 tram stop closer to the center of the frontstretch grandstands and new exterior pedestrian boulevard that will stretch from Turn 1 to Turn 4 walkway inside the gates.
What it means for our fans: Quicker access to the track through two new gates; easier circulation around Daytona with a tram route that takes you closer to the center of the frontstretch; fan-friendly walkway under the grandstands free of vehicle traffic.
Sprint FANZONE
The Sprint FANZONE, located in the heart of Daytona International Speedway and constructed as part of a multi-million dollar infield renovation, offers race fans amenities such as looking into the Sprint Cup Series garages through windows and the Sprint FANDECK, strolling through the Goodyear Legends of Daytona area, dining at the Budweiser Bistro, entertainment stage and buying the latest merchandise at the Last Lap store.
What it means for our fans: Unprecedented access to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series garages and drivers and memorable race experiences.
New Frontstretch Grandstand Seats
New lower grandstand seating has been installed in the DePalma and Oldfield Grandstands (located near Turn 4) as well as the Segrave, Keech and Lockhart Grandstands (located near Turn 1) with larger 21-inch chair seats with arm rests. All risers and walkways were also replaced with new aluminum and new and additional handicap ramps and stairs will provide access to seating as well.
What it means for our fans: Even more comfort with larger seats
Expanded bus and tram loading zones
In both Lot 7 (frontstretch) and Lot 10 parking lots, bus and tram loading zones have been expanded permanent lighting and improved drainage has been installed.
What it means for our fans: Shorter wait times getting to and from our free parking lots
Turn 1 tunnel
Part of Daytona International Speedway's multi-million infield renovation, the new Turn 1 tunnel includes a pedestrian walkway and can accommodate team haulers and RVs.
What it means for our fans: convenient, vehicle-free walkway to the infield; easy infield access for our infield RV guests
Daytona 500 Champion's Walk of Fame
Winning drivers of the Daytona 500 since 1996, the first year of operation for the Daytona 500 Experience motorsports attraction, have their hands, right foot and signature immortalized in cement in the Daytona 500 Champion’s Walk of Fame, which is one display in front of "The Official Attraction of NASCAR."
What it means for our fans: Put your hands and feet in the handprint and footprints of your favorite DAYTONA 500 champions and there in person each year as a new driver is inducted into this prestigious walk of fame.
Coca-Cola IMAX Theatre
The Coca-Cola IMAX Theatre is one of only four 3D IMAX Theatres in the state of Florida and shows "NASCAR 3D: The IMAX Experience," which is narrated by Kiefer Sutherland and takes race fans inside the world of NASCAR's teams and drivers.
What it means for our fans: Take in the thrills of the NASCAR 3D IMAX movie and a race in the same day!
ARCA Driver Development Program
Race your friends on the high banks in the ARCA Driver Development Program simulator. The exhibit consists of four racing cockpits with 42-inche LCD screens, professional simulation controls and is powered by ARCA SIM RACING software. The unique part of the exhibit is the Virtual Spotter's Stand, where visitors can experience the full immersion of spotter-to-driver communications.
What it means for our fans: Test your driving skills on Daytona’s high banks through this new simulator inside DAYTONA 500 Experience.
Jumbotrons
Daytona International Speedway continues to add jumbotrons, including four permanent video screens structures. In total, Daytona has seven jumbotrons on hand for the grandstand crowds on NASCAR weekends..
What it means for our fans: Don’t miss ANY of the action on Daytona’s high banks, replays, pit stops and more!
Restrooms
Since 2005, Daytona International Speedway has enlarged or reconstructed seven existing restrooms and has built 13 additional restrooms to better serve our guests.
What it means for our fans: Less wait time at the restrooms and more time being able to watch the racing action
