Rules for “Straightaway to Stardom V”

.  This is a contest of skill.  All contestants must enter on an official entry blank, which can be obtained at Daytona International Speedway®, DAYTONA 500 Experience® Guest Services, or by filling out all necessary info in an email to the address listed below.  Entries accepted beginning May 11, 2009 and ending upon receipt of the first 100 entries.  Contest and entry are limited to the first 100 entrants received by Daytona International Speedway, LLC.  You can register by registering online, faxing, or mailing the entry form to “Straightaway to Stardom” c/o Daytona International Speedway, 1801 W. International Speedway Blvd. Daytona Beach, FL 32114, 386-947-6791, or www.daytonainternationalspeedway.com/STS.  Not responsible for lost, late, mutilated, misdirected, or postage-due entries.  Incomplete, illegible, or fraudulent entries not considered.  Contest open to all legal residents of the United States.  Only one (1) entry per person permitted.  Employees or their family members, of Daytona International Speedway, LLC and its parent, subsidiaries, and affiliates, The ESPN Club At The Walt Disney World’s Boardwalk Resort and members of their immediate families may not participate.  Selection format will consist of three (3) rounds of competition where contestants perform acapella during each Round:  Round 1 shall include all 100 entries who must sing a one-minute version of a song of their choice; Semi-Final Round where 20 entries selected from Round 1 will compete and must sing the National Anthem; and Final Round where 10 entries will compete for Grand Prize and must sing the National Anthem.  Winners for each round will be selected from among all eligible entries by a panel of judges as determined by the Sponsors (“Judges”).  All decisions of the Judges shall be made in the sole discretion of the Judges and are final.  Contestants will be judged on their ability to sing an acappella version of The Star Spangled Banner.

One (1) Grand Prize winner will sing the National Anthem at the NASCAR® Nationwide Series “Daytona 250” race scheduled to be conducted at Daytona International Speedway® on Friday, July 3, 2009; credentials for four (4) people for the NASCAR Nationwide Series “Daytona 250” race; tickets for four (4) to the “Brumos Porsche 250” race/NASCAR® Sprint Cup Series “Coke Zero 400 Powered By Coca-Cola®” scheduled to be conducted at Daytona International Speedway® on Saturday, July 4, 2009. Approximate Retail Value $340 all applicable taxes, license, registration fees, insurance, and any other expenses not specifically listed herein (including without limitation any necessary transportation and lodging) are the responsibility of prizewinner.  Prize winner must present personal identification bearing his/her photograph, name, age, and address, and sign a declaration of eligibility and liability release in order to take delivery of any prize.  Prizes are not transferable.  No cash in lieu of prizes.  No substitution of prizes.  In the event any race is postponed, changed, or canceled in whole or in part, no cash, prize substitutions, or other compensation will be provided.  Any difference between estimated prize values and actual prize values will not be awarded to winner.  If the winner is unable to perform the National Anthem on July 3, 2009 as described above or cannot be reached by telephone by June 16, 2009, than an alternate winner will be selected by the Judges.  All entries and performances (including without limitation auditions and actual performance) shall immediately upon submission or performance become the sole property of Daytona International Speedway, LLC and Daytona International Speedway, LLC shall have all right, title and interest in such items.

By entering this contest and/or using any prize, prize winner and guests agree: (1) to release Daytona International Speedway, LLC, The ESPN Club At The Walt Disney World’s Boardwalk Resort, any media partners, and their respective parent, subsidiaries and affiliated companies and their respective shareholders, officers, directors, employees, agents, members, and assigns, the Daytona Beach Racing and Recreational Facilities District, the City of Daytona Beach and County of Volusia from liability of any kind or nature for any loss, claims, damages or injuries of any kind associated with participation in this contest or with acceptance and use of any prize; (2) to be bound by these rules and any decisions of the sponsor or promoter relating to the participation in the contest, selection of winners and awarding of prizes, whose decisions are final; and  (3) agree to share personal information on the entry with contest Sponsors and authorize contest Sponsors’ future contact with entrant. Sponsors agree to obey all laws, rules and ordinances in collecting and using such data.  Acceptance of any prize constitutes permission to use winner’s name, biographical information, and/or likeness for purposes of advertising and promotion without further compensation, unless prohibited by law.  In order to claim prize, additional releases and/or waivers of liability required by Daytona International Speedway, LLC and/or any applicable sanctioning body shall be required as appropriate.

Void where prohibited by law.  Subject to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.  Winner’s name will be posted on the track’s website www.daytonainternationalspeedway.com following the contest.
