RACER Names Rolex 24 One Of 50 New Year's Resolutions
The 44th anniversary of the Rolex 24, America's toughest and most prestigious sports car race, was named as one of 50 New Year's Resolutions in the January edition of RACER.

RACER highlighted 50 things to do for any motorsports enthusiast in 2006 and "seeing the sunrise at the Rolex 24 At Daytona" was among the list of must-see events.

Said RACER: "You don't need much of an excuse to head to Florida in the middle of winter anyway, but with the recent renaissance of the Rolex 24, there's even more of a reason to head to Daytona Beach. Check out the sun coming up over the banking and feel glad to be alive. And then stay on for Speedweeks. It's really only just begun."

DAYTONA USA, celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2006, was named a must-see attraction destination and called an "interactive wonderland." For those not lucky enough to attend the Daytona 500, the magazine also suggested to readers to host a Daytona 500 party.

The dates for the 44th anniversary of the Rolex 24 At Daytona will be a week earlier on Jan. 26-29 - the weekend between the NFL playoffs and the Super Bowl - and will once again feature a star-studded field of drivers and cars.

The Rolex 24, which serves as the kick-off event to the international motorsports calendar as well as Speedweeks 2006, will once again feature a festive atmosphere that will include the Daytona 5K run/walk, massive autograph session, Ferris Wheel and carnival, Rolex 24 Heritage exhibition, wine and cheese festival, movie screenings and much much more.
