Daytona 500 Experience Educational Programs
This Spring Daytona 500 Experience will start a new adventure in the world of education with an exciting program geared toward elementary school students.  The Daytona 500 Experience Elementary Educational Program will be split into two grade levels.  The first level is a curriculum for kindergarteners through second graders and the second for third through fifth graders.  Both levels will delve into the science, math, and critical thinking behind a successful NASCAR program with activities related to safety and track design, teamwork on a “pit crew”, speed, force, and velocity.  History also plays a big part in their educational experience with the Goodyear Heritage of Daytona Exhibit and guided speedway tour of historic Daytona International Speedway.  All of this is tied together by a viewing of NASCAR 3-D:The IMAX Experience in the Coke IMAX Theater.  Both programs are teacher and chaperone led, and upgrades for lunch and motion simulators are available.

The Elementary Educational Program is an extension of the already successful Daytona 500 Experience Physics Program for middle and high school students, now in its second full year.  Middle and high school students test their skills and physics know-how with racing themed labs on Mechanical Advantage, Velocity, Center of Mass, and Friction.  The labs are held in the Nationwide Series Garages in the infield of Daytona International Speedway.  A speedway tour, IMAX movie, historic scavenger hunt, 16 Sec. Pit Stop Challenge, and Acceleration Alley round out the day to keep the students revved the whole way back to the classroom.
