No experience in motorsports connects you with the action quite like the University of Northwestern Ohio (UNOH) Fanzone. Current stars, past legends, fast cars and diehard fans collide in this sprawling entertainment space that sits in the heart of the World Center of Racing. UNOH Fanzone is the most fan-friendly, hands-on experience in all of sports.
Dress for success
You’ll be outdoors throughout your time in UNOH Fanzone and, with so much to see and do, you don’t want your clothing choices slowing you down. This is the Sunshine State so you’ll definitely attract some rays throughout the day. While it’s a good opportunity to work on your tan, make sure you keep your skin protected by bringing along sunscreen, hats and sunglasses. In addition, prepare for the unpredictability of July at DAYTONA. We recommend you bring ponchos or rain jacket if weather takes a turn.
Be sure to make race day a family affair as Kids 12 and under are FREE in the UNOH Fanzone throughout the weekend (daily adult admission ticket required). Within UNOH Fanzone is the Kids Area. In past years, kids have enjoyed activities including rock wall climbing, inflatable and much more!
On Saturday, Crayola will be making a special visit to the Kids Area for the Crayola Experience. Kids will be able to channel the power of their creativity with activity books, coloring pages, a race car photo op and buckets filled with a variety of Crayola crayons. Don’t miss out on this special one-day-only experience for your kids!
Download the UNOH Fanzone schedule
With everything from driver appearances, historic displays, autograph sessions, access to pre-race ceremonies and much more, UNOH Fanzone will be the hub for your race weekend entertainment. However, many of them are extremely time-sensitive and, in order to get the most out of your UNOH Fanzone wristband, you should plan out exactly how you’d like to fit everything in.
To help you plan out your day, it’s highly recommended that you download the new Daytona International Speedway Mobile App. The app allows you to create customizable daily schedules, which will send you push notifications throughout the day to keep you updated on all of the event happenings that interest you.
Sign up early for garage tours
On Friday of Coke Zero 400 weekend, free 30-minute guided garage tours will be given for 15 guests at a time. Tours are not guaranteed with your UNOH Fanzone wristband. Once you enter UNOH Fanzone, head over to the FPL Solar Patio to see if there are any available tours left. It’s first-come, first-serve and your entire party must be present for sign ups, so if you want a chance to take a tour, make this a top priority.
Once again, these aren’t available every day and the scheduling depends on the on-track schedule, which can vary. Be sure to check out the schedule for the day when you first arrive at UNOH Fanzone. Don’t miss out on the chance to see first-hand where engines roar to life and mechanics work to make sure their 3,300-pound machines are in top form.
Take advantage of Pre-Race festivities
The pre-race track walk - taken to the next level with DAYTONA’s banking and famous start/finish line - is a tradition unmatched by any other sport. Gain access to the tri-oval grass through the UNOH Fan Zone. Leave your mark on Daytona International Speedway by signing the start/finish line and walk on the same asphalt that will soon crown another DAYTONA champion.
On Friday, get up-close for driver introductions, while Saturday presents you with the opportunity to witness a star-spangled pre-race ceremony, complete with a pre-race concert by country music star Tyler Farr.
Join us for the race that means more than any other – at the place that's unlike anything else. Guarantee your seats for the 2017 DAYTONA 500 before they sell out. For tickets and more information, visit DAYTONA500.com or call 1-800-PITSHOP.
