To fully enjoy the sights, sounds and atmosphere as NASCAR action returns to the "World Center of Racing" for the Coke Zero 400 Powered By Coca-Cola, make sure you consider bringing several of the items listed below for an Independence Day weekend unlike any other.
Racing Headphones & Portable Radio
When some of the finest engines in all of motorsports come speeding past you at almost 200 mph, things can get noisy. Bring along a pair of headphones or ear plugs so you can enjoy the race at a comfortable volume, while tuning into WNDB 1150 AM in Daytona Beach for the MRN broadcast or FM 107.9 for the DIS public address system. Hearing the the action will give you an even better idea of how your favorite driver is doing on the track. If you want to get even closer to the action, try a race scanner or FanVision from any Racing Electronics location in the Midway or UNOH Fanzone.
You’ll be able to sit in the prestige of the world’s only motorsports stadium to watch the weekend of racing action. While the new stadium brings you closer to the action than ever before and provides tremendous sightlines, a pair of binoculars will come in handy if you want to focus in on your favorite driver, watch a pit stop in extraordinary detail or hone in on a certain part of the 2.5-mile tri-oval.
For drivers and race teams, an entire weekend of racing means hard work and little sleep. For you, it means plenty of time to explore Daytona International Speedway and take part in all of the fun activities that makes a race weekend at DAYTOAN a truly one-of-a-kind experience. As a fan, you’re really not experiencing the Independence Day weekend celebration if you don’t take advantage of all of the entertainment, including the programming inside UNOH Fanzone. With so much to do and so much to see, a comfortable pair of shoes will be your best friend for this event because, if you plan it right, you’ll be able to move seamlessly between fun activities. Be sure to check the event schedule to start planning out your trip.
Prepare for the Weather
This is the Sunshine State so sitting out and watching racing all day will definitely attract some rays and even though you’ll want a nice tan, make sure you keep your skin protected by bringing along sunscreen, hats and sunglasses. While DAYTONA enjoys some of the best weather in all of racing, just like the action on-track, Mother Nature can be unpredictable. While the massive covered concourses in the stadium provide cover from adverse conditions, we still recommend you bring ponchos or rain jacket if weather takes a turn.
Make yourself at home by bringing coolers from home, full of your favorite food and drinks. Be sure to check out the gate policies to find out what you can and cannot bring.
Sharpie and Memorabilia
You’ll have a chance to collect signatures and meet all of your favorite XFINITY drivers in an autograph session held in the UNOH Fanzone on Friday, June 30 from 12 pm to 12:45 pm. At no other time during the weekend will you find the best XFINITY drivers all signing autographs at the same time and in the same location, so be sure to bring your favorite items to get signed. In addition, they could also come in handy if you’re in UNOH Fanzone and your favorite driver comes to the autograph window at his garage stall. UNOH Fazone/Pre-Race access is FREE for Kids 12 & under throughout the weekend. Upgrade online now or during the race weekend at the UNOH Fanzone ticket office.
Do you any question on anything else you should bring? If so, let us know in the comment box below. In addition, be sure to review the list of prohibited items.
