Food & Drinks
Part of what makes raceday at DAYTONA truly unique is the ability to bring your very own cooler. Before you come to the track, pack up a soft side bag or cooler (no larger than 14x14x14 inches), filled with your favorite food and drinks. Making for an affordable, convenient experience, be sure to enjoy this special perk that few other sports experience can offer!
Earplugs
If racing sounds loud on TV, we promise there’s nothing like the roar of the real thing. When the engines fire up and the on-track action gets hot, the decibel level goes up considerably. To enjoy the race at a comfortable volume, bring along a pair of earplugs.
Racing Headphones
There is no better way to enjoy the race than to listen to everything occurring on the track. You can rent a scanner and pair of headphones from Racing Electronics. Not only will the headphones block out unwanted noise, but it will allow you to listen to the behind-the-scenes chatter between your favorite drivers and their spotters and crew chiefs. Take advantage of the opportunity to be fully tuned into the race with this insider option.
Portable Radio
If you’d like to pair up the racing action with commentary, bring a portable radio and tune into each Speedweeks 2019 race on MRN. Anyone who has paired live racing with radio knows that hearing the action described as the race unfolds before you is a truly unique experience.
Binoculars
There’s not a bad view in the house as the state-of-the-art motorsports facility provides tremendous sightlines and brings you closer to the action than ever before. However, there’s plenty of sights to explore at a 2.5-mile track, making binoculars a handy tool if you want to focus on a specific group of drivers or an area of the tri-oval.
Comfortable Shoes
Good shoes are going to be key to fully enjoying your trip to Daytona International Speedway. With Speedweeks festivities stretching nearly two full weeks, you have plenty of time to explore and take part in all of the fun activities, scheduled programming and entertainment inside UNOH Fanzone, the Midway and throughout the “World Center of Racing.” For those with pre-race access, the comfortable shoes should come in handy when walking up and down the high banks prior to the race.
Mobile App
The ultimate event companion is simply a must have for your trip to DAYTONA. We highly recommend downloading the Daytona International Speedway mobile app, which will help with everything from facility navigation to scheduling your day with us. In addition, the app allows you to win great prizes instantly by signing up for DAYTONA Rewards and visiting various points of interest on race day. Be sure to bring a mobile phone charger to keep your phone powered up all day long!
Weather Gear
February weather in Florida makes Speedweeks a vacation destination. Expect the sun to be out regularly and temperatures to be extremely comfortable. This is the Sunshine State so make sure you keep your skin protected by bringing along sunscreen, hats, sunglasses and water to stay hydrated.
In addition, to stay comfortable throughout your several hours here, dress in layers for an easy addition or removal. A rain jacket or poncho is also recommended to keep you dry in the event of rain.
Race Gear
Whether you a die-hard racing fan or new to NASCAR, you’ll want to represent YOUR driver throughout Speedweeks with shirts, hats, diecasts and more. Because a new season brings changes to drivers, race teams and sponsors, we’ve got you covered if you’re looking for the most updated gear. Merchandise vendors will be on-site in the Midway with several trailers filled with the newest 2019 NASCAR gear.
Whatever your memorabilia and gear, they will be perfect for the several driver appearances and autograph sessions going on during Speedweeks. Be sure to bring your favorite items to get signed, along with a fresh Sharpie, which will also work well when you sign the start/finish line during the pre-race ceremonies.
The greatest race awaits – tickets are still available, but going fast. Guarantee your place in history today!
